Ms Amina and Mr Joby joined us at the beginning of 2016 as teacher and teachers assistant. Their daughters, Sofia and Ruby, also joined the Ngalapita School community. Mr Edmond returned to continue in his position as our AIEO. It was a busy first semester with a lot more students attending than were on the school role. The classroom was buzzing with lots of learning happening. Eventually we had to use the second classroom where Mr Joby and Mr Edmond worked with the students following detailed lesson plans and instruction provided by Ms Amina. At the end of Term 2, Mr Joby left Koorabye and moved to Broome to begin work with the Department of Conservation and Lands.
Ms Amina loved cooking and the students enjoyed many healthy cooking lessons, trying some foods they had never eaten before. Mr Joby and Mr Edmond took the sport and Physical Education programs while Ms Teresa continued to take Art.

Tiiley Nelson returned to Ngalapita School for work experience in Term 2. She did a great job following the program Ms Amina had set out for the Early Years students. It was great to see our past student returning from Bindoonboarding school where she was successfully adapting to secondary school life.
At the beginning of Term 3, Ms Lee joined us as our second teacher for the term. She taught the older student while Ms Amina concentrated on the younger ones.
